Book Shop | The Book Of Bro - Part 2

Book Shop

Is it Cheaper to Buy Books From Online Bookstores?

Consumer confidence to shop online is on the rise because there are several advantages over conventional methods of shopping.

1) While conventional shopping means commuting to a book shop to buy a book during business hours, availability of books online makes it easy to shop from a PC anytime without stepping out of the door.

2) It is cheaper to shop online because you don’t have to bear book printing and book distribution costs.

3) Online shopping is a big advantage for book publishers too, because they don’t have to bear massive overheads of advertising or high rents in city buildings any more.

4)Its good news for all of us because book publishers provide a safe and sound environment for us to shop online with their safe payment gateways using credit cards, Pay pal or bank transfers.

5) Though very few people would know about this secret, you don’t have to necessarily buy whole book if you just needed a chapter. Not only you can download a chapter, you can even remove irrelevant text to make the chapter precise and more meaningful. In other words, you can convert the chapter into editable format, then delete paragraphs or text you don’t need.

More often than not these books are in PDF or image format, a format that’s not easy to edit. However if you convert PDF into word or text format then it can be edited easily.

So how exactly can you convert PDF into word?

Firstly search on Google a site that converts PDF online, then upload your chapter or book and then convert to word. You can edit, cut or paste your text version as you want.

Please note, you may come across many sites that will offer to convert your PDF into Word. Select a good site only, then upload your chapter and download its editable version within minutes. You may find some sites are absolutely free while some may charge a fee.

Caution: As far as possible keep away from free sites. Though you may be tempted to select free sites just because they are free, it can be dangerous to go with free sites. That’s because free sites may often be riddled with malwares, viruses and phishing software which can creep into your PC and cause irrepairable damage.

Good news is that not all sites on internet are dangerous, there are many good sites too. Mostly paid sites, so make sure you select a paid site only. Paid sites may charge a small fee but they certainly are safe to give you that piece of mind you deserve.

“Ranger’s Apprentice Book 9: Halt’s Peril” by John Flanagan Available Now from Australian Book Shops

Waiting with bated breath for the next Ranger’s Apprentice Book Nine, Halt’s Peril?  Wait no longer!

Many years ago, just by chance, I was browsing by means of Powells Books in Portland, Oregon when I stumbled across a treasure:  John Flanagan’s initial book, Book One in the Ranger’s Apprentice series, “The Ruins of Gorlan.”  (Although I’m middle aged, I confess that I’ve often been really fond of juvenile and young adult fantasy.)  I devoured it, and eagerly searched online for any much more in the series.  I was delighted to discover Book Two “The Burning Bridge”, ready to be ordered from Amazon.  That, too, was rapidly devoured.  Then I started looking online to see when Book 3 was to be released and excellent sadness descended:  it was going to be months, if not years just before I would be able to study number 3!

But wait, wasn’t John Flanagan an Australian author?  Perhaps, just perhaps, his books had been being published earlier in Australia… and then happiness returned!  There I found by looking on the internet, ready to be ordered from an Australian book shop months and even years before Amazon’s American release, Book Three “The Icebound Land”, Book 4 “Oakleaf Bearers” and Book Five in the Ranger’s Apprentice series, “The Sorcerer in the North.”  Oh, and they had a lot much more intriguing covers than the the American editions, although these are significant soft covers, instead of hardbacks.  And so I’ve continued feeding my Ranger’s Apprentice fix to this day:  I don’t bother waiting for the American editions to be published on Amazon, I pay the  additional in cost for the privilege of reading the books months or even years prior to most of my American peers by ordering the books directly from Australian book shops as soon as they are published.  I have ordered Book Six “The Siege of Macindaw”, Book Seven “Erak’s Ransom”, and Book Eight “The Kings of Clonmel” in this way and plan on ordering the most recent volume, Book Nine “Halt’s Peril”(obtainable this November 2009 from Australia) from an Australian book shop, as well.

So, to aid out my fellow Americans who cannot bear to wait months for the next Ranger’s Apprentice volume, I’m such as links below to the property pages of Australian book web sites that are currently listing “Halt’s Peril” for sale.  You will require to use their individual search engines (just sort in “Halt’s Peril” into the title  field if absolutely nothing comes up, attempt “Halts Peril” without having the apostrophe.) to bring up the correct page.  I’m not listing these in any specific order, and could periodically switch the order these are listed, so that each Australian book store has an equal opportunity at an American book getting consumer.
